4 virtues to be a leader who doesn’t get scolded
How many leaders are respected worldwide? Although there may be differences from country to country, the cold reality is that there are no leaders who are good at what they do, and it is not easy to find a respected leader who is at a higher level. First of all, a leader is the ultimate person in charge of a group. You have to go beyond the scope of what you did well before simply becoming a leader and play the role of leading the organization well according to the meaning of a leader. What makes this so difficult is that it is virtually impossible to get proper leadership training. Even if you learn the theory, if the characteristics of the organization member or the context of the work change even a little, the contents learned will become useless in an instant. Given this situation, it might be natural for a leader to be criticized by his teammates. In such a complex situation, the core philosophy is more important than the specific details. What virtues must be cultivated to become a leader who is not criticized?
Consistency
A leader is not a person who practices. He is the one who directs the direction and bears the final responsibility for the outcome. After all, a leader’s core competencies are most displayed at the beginning and end of a job. Therefore, once you have started, you must act consistently according to the plan you have set to greatly reduce the stress of the members of the organization. Obviously, there are clearly instructions given by the leader, but if the result suddenly changes direction and shifts responsibility to the practitioner, it can be said that it is the worst leader.

Assess the situation
Circumstances always change. If so, the strategy should be modified accordingly. If you are mistaken here and do not formulate a strategy to adapt to the changed situation in the name of consistency, you are a typical incompetent leader. However, as mentioned earlier, consistency is important. So when a large part of the plan changes, it should be explained first, not an order. In fact, all practitioners are reluctant to suddenly switch to a new job. Therefore, the changed reality must be explained more clearly than before. It is a great leader to quickly adjust the strategy after convincing the team members as much as possible. If the leader can’t lose context, it’s like a captain sailing without a compass. There is no such thing as a blind man.
Learning ability
Leaders who do not constantly study are bound to be weeded out unconditionally. When you are a practitioner, you only have to do what you are given, but a leader must continuously discover new items and present new alternatives when problems arise. Therefore, learning ability can be said to be the core of the core virtues of a leader. Without the ability to learn, there is no way to grasp the context and cope with a new situation. Another benefit that can be obtained if a leader consistently shows learning is the trust he gains from members of the organization. Who can hate a leader who constantly grows and studies to adapt to change? In fact, there is no more constructive pressure than when a leader leads by example and learns to improve himself and her organization. Members of the organization who actively work together under such pressure are candidates for the next generation of leaders.
Communication skills
A key role for leaders is coordination. When do we use the word coordination? The word tuning is used to adjust the pitch of an instrument to a standard note. In order for an instrument to be properly tuned, you need to check the sound as you work. There is no way to tune in without listening. Coordination of work is the same. After all, the leader must first listen to the stories of the members of the organization and demonstrate leadership. Sadly, “dictatorship,” a distorted leadership style of “black and white” without communication, is prevalent in Korea. As the head of an organization, if you explain and communicate why you should follow before shouting “Follow me!”, more people will actively follow you. In fact, as long as you communicate well, you will not be criticized as a leader. What I really want to say to the elderly is that I should not talk while drinking at a dinner party in order to communicate. Leaders who mistake this for real communication are nothing more than advisors. The communication we are talking about here is ‘business’ communication.
